We are privileged to have an excellent theatre here in Tunbridge Wells and The Barn is fortunate to be located a mere 100 metres from the Assembly Hall, with free parking adjacent evenings and weekends and, therefore, an ideal venue for pre-theatre dining and for a relaxing post-theatre drink.
The theatre was built by The Tunbridge Wells Corporation and opened in May 1939. It has a seating capacity for 933 people spread over the ground floor and the balcony.
Since 1967 it has become the home for The Tunbridge Wells Operatic and Dramatic Society (TWODS) but offers a wide diversified programme of shows and events throughout the year with live entertainment and music, comedy and family shows.
The theatre has recently completed a £1.5 million refurbishment to include more comfortable seating.
At The Barn, we have created a menu which is designed specifically for theatre goers which offers an excellent choice and at £11.95 for 2 courses and 14.95 for 3 courses represents great value. Menus are changed seasonally or on a more regular basis but the choice and value for money remain the same. We also have a children’s menu which is especially appreciated during the pantomime season.
Our quality wine list with at least ten wines available by the glass in addition to a more extensive range available by the bottle offers great value.
