Sissinghurst Castle

Once a graceful Elizabethan manor house, Sissinghurst Castle is now in ruins. However, the attraction still draws visitors from far and wide due to its history and beautiful gardens. The gardens are separated into sections, each one different from the next and you can imagine the scents and colours that are so vivid and pleasing on the eye.

From fabulous rose gardens to ancient trees and an abundance of native wildlife, Sissinghurst Castle is on the top of our list of places to visit when the weather is good. Run by The National Trust the castle ruins and gardens are truly beautiful so make sure you pack your camera to immortalise the scenery forever.

You’ll find a gift shop, plant shop picnic benches and free parking for National Trust members, plus a full range of amenities for disabled and children. Clearly marked walking routes are available but do check if they are suitable for your group. The National Trust work hard to maintain the grounds and ruins so that visitors can enjoy them and you can help too by supporting their work and helping conserve important sites across the UK.
