This award is ‘The Couples’ Choice – Great Service Award 2023/2024. The winner of the award is chosen by wedding couples of Kent by voting for suppliers who go above and beyond to provide a great customer service and were not only a pleasure to deal with, but also a true wedding professional.
Our multi-award winning wedding venue has also won the prestigious Wedding Venue of the Year in 2022/2023, 2019, 2016 and 2013.
The Barn is unique in many ways, not least in that it has been rebuilt from a centuries old Elizabethan barn, which was originally constructed in a Kent village, and re-erected on its present site in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells some years ago. The impressive oak beams and columns add a touch of rustic charm, making it a perfect setting for your wedding celebrations.
We are licensed for civil ceremonies, which are held in our beautiful orangery overlooking the garden. Previous couples havedescribed it as an “intimate and personal room’ and we think you’ll agree.
Royal Tunbridge Wells is itself a famous spa town with a rich history spanning back to its status as a fashionable destination for the middle and upper classes in the 18th and 19th centuries. It was granted its royal charter in 1909 by King Edward VII, in recognition of the time his royal ancestors had spent there. Such a town provides the perfect backdrop for a elegant wedding day.
Of all Tunbridge Wells wedding venues, The Barn offers outstanding natural beauty and is situated in a conveniently central location. Despite it’s proximity to the centre of town, The Barn is a private venue, and offers an intimate space to celebrate with loved ones on such a special occasion.
Within our beautiful wedding venue is a renowned grill restaurant and bar, which offer heaps of historic charm and exclusive service for you and you guests throughout the day. Your guests will be offered multiple menu options – a feature that sets us apart. From a hearty three-course breakfast to set you up for the day ahead to an evening meal catered to suit a variety of tastes, we will ensure your every need is met.
We can offer you the exclusive use of the entirety of our spectacular wedding venue, with no reception or venue hire fees. This includes our award-winning walled garden, overspilling with vibrant blooms and reminiscent of Tunbridge Wells’ beautiful countryside surroundings.
As a husband and wife team, Janet and I have managed The Barn for 30 years. We do not employ ‘wedding co-ordinators’ so you can be confident that we will give our undivided attention to your wedding requirements, both leading up to the special day and on the day itself.
